From Google Video Search: "education and training" What further education/training would I need to get a job as a beer brewer (and eventually brewmaster)? Q. I would love to someday work as a brewer/brewmaster for a local or corporate (Budweiser, Miller, Coors) brewer or winery. I've done some searching online and found a range of job requirements like college degrees, special brewing schools/certificates, and even just flat out applying for job openings without having any prior knowledge/experience. But I would like to know what the best "next step" for me would be. I already have a Biology degree and understand that the brewing process is a lot of applications in the fields of microbiology and biochemistry. If necessary, I would willing to go back to school to get the proper education/training I need to land myself a good paying job as a brewer. My advice would be to contact breweries you are interested in and see what THEY tell you. A friend of mine is a brewmaster for Molson, and he doesn't have any formal education, but he has worked there for 17 years and moved through the ranks. If you live in America, there are over 700 craft/microbrewers that are small enough to give your request the personal attention you need. Take a tour of a few microbreweries and ask questions, show interest, and see where it takes you. There are several beer web sites that list the plethora of breweries in the world and their web sites (which lead to phone numbers and email contacts) which I've listed below. Q. for example, preparation, high school classes, college courses, vocational training, and needed degrees? Asked by jenrr - Sun May 25 00:39:35 2008 - Drawing & Illustration - 1 Answers - Comments A. High school isn't the problem, it's college. Whatever school you choose better be one that has a good track record of getting people animation jobs. Pick wisely, don't just pick any art school that has animation classes. Pick one that is expert at teaching animation, like Cal Arts, SCAD, or Sheridan. And if you are going to get into one of those good schools, you should be practicing your art every day at home. They take only the best artists, based on whatever portfolio or test requirements they have. Figure out what those are and work on that instead of trying to figure out what high school art classes you need. Just get through high school with good grades. While you're in college, focus on your portfolio/demo reel. That makes all the… [cont.] Answered by berdoz - Sun May 25 04:50:02 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "education and training" |
